VERMILION VASE WITH PLUM & PEACH, 5x7", Oil Hall Groat II, (SOLD !)

PURCHASED BY ART COLLECTOR FROM HERCULES, CALIFORNIA

In this painting I'm working to get the "paint" to define itself and subject at the same time. This notion is the touchstone of painting from the past. The paint appears sexy, sassy and sensual, and I'm happy about this. The world is in flux, we do not see edges like cameras do, therefore, paint through the form, destroy edges, and rebuild. This is the way we see. Paint a "box of air."
Vermeer wanted to heighten the way we see as humans--it was the camera obscura that made this possible.

Greetings,
If you don't have a blogger account, and rather not set one up, just leave a comment without a name. I'm interested in hearing what you think about the work, in addition to the international sustainable movement.
Thanks,
Hall Groat II, American Artist
